Habits (Stay High)

Tove Lo

Truth Serum

December 6th, 2013

She picks up daddies on the playground during the day, and at night she goes out to sex clubs. She eats dinner in the bathtub, which doesn't seem too bad, but that's the same bathtub she throws up in after she binge-eats Twinkies so that's kind of gross. She's totally numb to everything, and all her money goes into drinking in drugs. All this to forget being left by the person she loves. Pfft, and you thought YOU were a mess after your last breakup.

  • For the record, it's pronounced "Too-veh Lu" but Tove doesn't mind if people approach it phonetically. "It's a Scandinavian name, so no-one's ever going to say it right in English," she laughs. "And also, Too-veh Lu sounds a bit like 'to the loo' which is not so good. So Tove Lo is alright."
  • As a young girl, Nilsson started writing poetry and short stories and later on studied at Rytmus Musikergymnasiet, a music school.
  • She was for some time member of a music band called Tremblebee, before leaving to concentrate on a solo singing and songwriting career.
  • Tove Lo has also written songs for a number of artists; including Icona Pop, Girls Aloud and Cher Lloyd among others.
